Prince Babatunde Stephen Adegboyega Alabi, a veteran journalist, lawyer, public relations guru and Law lecturer at Elizade University, Ilara-Mokin, Ondo State has emerged as the new Olósì of Òsì-Èkìtì, Ido-Osi LGA, Èkìtì State.
After a laborious and drawn-out process involving traditional divination, he emerged in front of a large group of Ido-Osi LGA obas, officials from the Ekiti State Government, and indigenous people.
On Sunday, the Afobaje declared him to be the town’s chosen Oba by the gods.
The head of the seven-member kingmakers, the Odofin of Osi-Ekiti, confirmed the decision made by the oracles of the country and clarified that the kingmakers had decided on the new Oba unanimously. He longed for a long and fruitful reign for him.
In the meantime, the required paperwork for the selection has been done in order to receive the Ekiti State Government’s permission.
The choice of the gods has brought joy to the whole populace. Their best wishes are with the Oba-elect.
Speaking on the subject, Hon. Bamidele Adetiloye Omoleye, the Chairman of Ido-Osi LG, confirmed that the procedure followed official government protocol. He wished the Oba well and commended the Osi-Ekiti people on the flawless exercise.
The Arubiojo Ruling House of Osi-Ekiti is the home of the Olosi-elect. He worked for NTA in Akure for a lovely career before retiring as the news and sports editor. He served as the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria’s (SWAN) national president once. He is a well-known attorney. He is an Elizade University law lecturer.
