Saidu Dakingari, former governor of Kebbi State has been named as 2024 Amirul Hajj and leader of the state delegation for the Hajj exercise in Saudi Arabia.
This is contained in a statement signed by the Executive Chairman of the Kebbi State Pilgrims Welfare Board, Alhaji Faruku Aliyu-Enabo, earlier today.
Alhaji Malami Shekare-Muhammad, Permanent Secretary in the State Cabinet Office, was appointed to serve as secretary of the delegation.
Justice Umar Abubakar is to work alongside Dakingari as Deputy Amirul Hajj for the exercise.
Abubakar Mohammed-Kana, Alhaji Usman Baraya, Muhammad Bello-Yakubu, Abubakar Aminu-Gulumbe, Abubakar Sulaiman-Fana Garba Abubakar Talba, Mohammad Musa-Tungulawa, Justice Suleiman Ambursa (rtd), Muhammad Fanna-Zaruma, Aishatu Abubakar-Gunabi and Rufa’i Aliyu-Yauri, are members of the committee.
Announcing the duty of the delegation, Alhaji Faruku Aliyu-Enabo said it is “To ensure compliance with all agreements reached between the state Pilgrims Welfare Board (PWB), the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON), and the airline operators.
“To advise the Pilgrims Welfare Board on all issues that will ensure smooth conduct of the operation,” the secretary said.
He further charged them to come up with suggestions on how best to improve future operations.
