The Super Eagles have been drawn against familiar rivals, the Benin Republic, in the qualification race for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
Grouped in Group D, they will face Benin Republic, who recently defeated them in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
At the draw ceremony in Johannesburg, South Africa, on Thursday, Nigeria’s Super Eagles were also paired with Libya and Rwanda in their quest for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualification.
These teams are also part of Nigeria’s group for the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
The qualifiers for the 2025 AFCON will start in September and conclude in November 2025. The tournament itself is scheduled from December 21, 2025, to January 18, 2026.
