Program Overview
Duration: January 1st – January 31st, 2025
Location: Berlin, Germany
Objective: To provide politically interested young leaders with insights into the German parliamentary system and political decision-making processes.
Program Components
- One-week internship in the office of a member of the German Bundestag.
- Compact preparation on parliamentary democracy, plural society, protection of minorities, and culture of remembrance.
- Workshops on various topics including corruption, intercultural training, and project management.
- Development of project ideas aimed at promoting democracy and civil society in participants’ home countries.
Scholarship Details
- Monthly stipend of 700 euros.
- Free accommodation in a residential complex.
- Coverage of travel costs to and from Berlin.
- Health, accident, and liability insurance coverage.
Eligibility Criteria
- Citizenship of a participating country (Botswana, Ghana, Kenya, Namibia, Nigeria, Senegal, South Africa, Tanzania, Uganda).
- Age younger than 30 years at the start of the scholarship on January 1st.
- Completed university studies.
- Good knowledge of the German language (at least level B2).
- Strong interest in political contexts and social/political commitment.
