The Federal Government of Nigeria has allocated N112 billion to finance the Safe School Initiative over the next three years.
This initiative aims to safeguard learning environments and ensure that schools remain safe and inclusive spaces for all children.
Minister for Women Affairs, Imaan Suleiman-Ibrahim, announced the allocation on Universal Children’s Day, emphasizing the government’s commitment to advancing children’s rights and creating an environment where every child has access to education, health, and a life free from fear and harm.
The initiative is part of broader efforts to protect children from violence and abuse, including the implementation of the Violence Against Persons Prohibition (VAPP) Act and the domestication of the Child Rights Act in all 36 states.
