Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has signed the N684 billion 2025 Appropriation Act into law.
During the budget signing ceremony held at the Executive Chamber of the Governor’s Office, Secretariat, Agodi, Ibadan, Makinde highlighted the significant improvements in the state’s annual budget performance, which has increased from 30-35% to over 70%.
The 2025 budget, tagged “Budget of Economic Stabilisation,” aims to target 80% budget implementation in 2025. Makinde emphasized that his administration would continue to push for reforms, people-centered policies, and economic stability to enhance the well-being of Oyo State residents.
The governor noted that the 2025 budget includes provisions for the new minimum wage, with the latest salary and consequential adjustments taking effect on January 1, 2025. He also reassured that the government would pay all workers and retirees the 13th month’s salary on December 31, 2024.
Makinde expressed gratitude to the Oyo State House of Assembly for their collaboration and swift approval of the budget, which took about three months from inception to completion.
