President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is currently meeting with the Progressive Governors’ Forum (PGF) at the State House, Abuja.
Though the agenda of the meeting could not be confirmed officially, it may be related to the planned nationwide protest starting on August 1.
The Chairman of the Progressive Governors Forum (PGF) and Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma, led the team of governors to the President’s office, joined by the Chairman of the Nigeria Governors Forum (NGF), Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq of Kwara State.
Also present were the reinstated Deputy Governor of Edo State, Philip Shuaibu; Cross River Governor Bassey Otu; Benue State Governor Fr. Hyacinth Alia; Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani; and Ebonyi State Governor Francis Nwifuru, among others.
National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu and the Ministers of Finance, Budget, and Economic Planning, Wale Edun and Abubakar Bagudu, were also seen arriving at the President’s office.
This meeting follows an earlier Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF) meeting on Wednesday evening and the cancellation of the National Economic Council (NEC) meeting, which was scheduled for Thursday noon.
