The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has filed a notice of withdrawal to cut short an appeal against the order of a High Court sitting in Kogi rendering it incapable of arresting the immediate past governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Bello. The anti-graft agency stated that the withdrawal is premised on the fact that subsequent events have occurred, and rendered the appeal unworthy. Yahaya Bello, immediate-past governor of Kogi State, has been served with charges by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) regarding an alleged N80.2 billion. Bello was served the accusations by his attorney, Abdulwahab Muhammad (SAN), according to the EFCC, following a ruling by Justice Emeka Nwite of the Federal High Court, Maitama, Abuja, that Bello should be served by his attorney. He further tendered his resignation from the state executive council. Earlier, Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers reshuffled his cabinet and redeployed Zacchaeus as the commissioner for Special Duties (Governor’s Office). Operations of Dana Air has been grounded by the Federal Government through the Ministry of Aviation. The decision was announced by Festus Keyamo, Minister of Aviation.
