A Rivers State High Court sitting in Port Harcourt has affirmed that 27 members of the Rivers State House of Assembly, who defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC) are still members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). Justice Okogbule Gbasam of the Rivers State High Court in Port Harcourt presided over the case and said the claimants were unable to prove that Martin Amaewhule and the 26 other legislators had switched to the APC. The Dapo Abiodun-led Ogun State Government has commenced the rehabilitation of the Laderin-Olokuta road, leading to the Professor Wole Soyinka Train Station in Abeokuta South LGA of the state. The State House of Assembly had earlier passed a resolution, directing the state government to immediately begin rehabilitation work on the road to ease human and vehicular movements along the axis. A group of Nigerian lawmakers, numbering 35 under the aegis of Reformer have proposed a major change to the Nigerian Constitution. Recall, the FG proposed ₦62,000 on Friday while the Organized Labour pegged its demand at ₦250,000, lower than the earlier proposed ₦494,000. Flooding and landslides in northern Vietnam have killed three people, state media said on Monday. This is sequel to days of heavy rain that partially submerged thousands of homes. No fewer than 30 travelers, including several students from the Federal Polytechnic, Nasarawa, were abducted on friday by suspected kidnappers along the Abuja-Nasarawa Highway. Reports have it that the kidnappers waylaid the vehicles carrying the travelers and forced them into a nearby bush in the Uke area of Nasarawa State.
