According to the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), one in four children worldwide is experiencing severe food poverty, with Nigeria being among the 20 countries most affected. In its 2024 report, UNICEF revealed that 181 million children under five globally face severe food poverty, surviving on just one or two food groups daily, with some days being even worse. A student of the Air Force Comprehensive School, Kaduna, Blaise Felix Aliyu, has been punished to death by two of his senior colleagues. Aliyu, who lost his parents in 2013, is said to be survived by his twin brother, who is also a student at the military boarding school, located in Mando, Kaduna. It was gathered that two SS3 students summoned Aliyu, 15, to their room under the pretext of punishing him but ended up killing him. The deceased body has been deposited in the mortuary. A Police Inspector has had his life ended by suspected naval officers in Okokomaiko area of Ojo Local Government Area in Lagos State The Inspector and four of his colleague were reportedly on routine patrol along Igbo-Elerin area of Ojo when the unfortunate incident occurred. A retired brigadier general of the Nigerian Army, Uwem Harold Udokwe, has been killed by suspected armed robbers in Abuja. The late officer was attacked at his Sunshine Homes Estate by men of the underworld at about 3am, on Saturday.
